Nexus 6P Camera is the Second Best Worldwide, beating iPhone 6!

Today Google unveiled the Nexus 6P. Having partnered with manufacturer Huawei to build this latest device, the Nexus 6P is the first to run Google’s most up-to-date version of its Android operating system — Android OS 6.0 Marshmallow (or “Android M”).

Google just unveiled the Nexus 6P FLagship, together with Huawei. The Nexus 6P is the world’s first to run Android OS 6.0 Marshmallow and the Specs wise its a real beast. Freshly launched our friends from DXOMARK already benchmarked the Nexus 6P Camera, and they have good news for all fans of the Google Nexus Series.

Before we get to the results, lets do a quick recap of the Nexus 6P Specs. The Nexus 6P comes with 5.7″ AMOLED QHD Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and a resolution of 1440 x 2560. The Nexus 6P features the V2.3 of the Snapdragon 810, combined with 3GB of RAM (same as last year). It gets a bigger battery, then both Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Nexus 6 with 3450mAh.

The rear camera features a large 12.3MP sensor with 1.55µm pixels and a wide F/2.0 aperture. The video capability of 2160p with 30fps. The Nexus 6P Front Camera boasts a 8MP sensor with 1.4µm pixels and F/2.4 aperture. The cameras come with added features like laser autofocus, DUAL LED flash, stabilization, HDR+, Geo tagging.

Lets get to the benchmarks. DXOMARK put a sample of the Nexus 6P through their industry-standard image quality tests. Overall the Nexus 6P camera scored 84points, and is second only to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge with 84 points.

If you wonder about the validity of these benchmarks. DXomark is around since 12 years and is considered as trusted for camera and lens quality benchmarks and ratings. They have a big database in camera comparisons for smartphones and of course cameras.

Overall the Nexus 6P camera comes in second worldwide and the best camera in low light conditions. Only the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge gets a higher score.We have to add here that the Sony Z5 and iPhone 6S have not been included in the benchmarks yet.
But then again the Nexus 6P clearly beats the ipHone 6 and iphone 6PLUS at positions 7 and 8.

Overall it looks very good for Nexus 6P fans in the camera department. The Nexus 6P Price is 499 USD for the base model in the US and 640 EURO for the base model in Europe.
