Xiaomi Mi 8 renders revealed 8GB RAM, SnD 845 and more

Not long ago, we have learned that Xiaomi is going to be celebrating its 8th year anniversary soon. In light of this event, the company will launch the Xiaomi Mi 8 instead of the version 7 altogether – probably because 8 is a lucky number in Chinese culture. We also discovered that Xiaomi will debut its 3D facial recognition (much like the iPhone X) and an in-display fingerprint scanner on this device.

Recently, a short video has surfaced on May 18, showing the alleged Xiaomi Mi 8 renders as a user unlocks the device with his fingerprint, right on the display. We know that this has to be the alleged device since we recognize some of the icons from the phone maker’s custom MIUI Android skin. Have you ever wondered what the handset looks like on the front and rear? Here is probably the most accurate specs that we have seen so far.

For starter, the Xiaomi Mi 8 specs are going to run on a 2.8GHz Snapdragon 845 processor based on 10nm LPP process using Kryo 385 architecture. Furthermore, there is also a version with 8GB RAM and UFS 2.1 flash memory. On the other hand, the Xiaomi handset would include a 6-inch AMOLED display with QHD resolutions of 2560 × 1440 pixels. Besides, the handset comes with a 4200mAh battery plus fast-charging support. On top of that, Xiaomi Mi 8 camera bears a dual 20MP+12MP rear sensor. Meanwhile, the front sensor has a 24MP lens for selfies. Lastly, the Mi 8 runs on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo with MIUI 9 base.

Xiaomi Mi 8 release date and price

Unfortunately, the company still hasn’t announced the price and availability of Xiaomi Mi 8 yet. But rumor says that it will go up for pre-sale on May 27. In the meantime, we expect the Xiaomi Mi 8 price will be a bit higher than the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, around $550 ~ Rm. 2,216.
