FLASHBACK: Very FIRST Nokia Phones in their history!

No one can’t deny that Nokia is a giant brand in the mobile phone industry. They used to release a lot of products belonging to various ranges before being sold to Microsoft at the end of 2013. Besides the brick phones famous all over the world, Nokia also produced many models with great features. It was the time when Apple was just well known for iPod and Macbook, or Google was only mentioned as a searching tool on the internet. So, the following are the 5 gorgeous representatives of not only their kinds but also Nokia! Check them out!

1. Nokia 9000 Communicator (1996): The FIRST Smartphone

Nokia 9000 Communicator was considered as the first smartphone by Nokia. It could play the role of an ordinary phone and small PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) with a full QWERTY keyboard. On the other hand, 9000 Communicator ran on OS GEOS v3.0, allowing you to check email, surf the web, send and receive fax.

2. Nokia 7650 (2002): The FIRST Symbian* Phone

Apart from being the first Symbian device, Nokia 7650 was also the first one to be equipped with camera in the Nokia’s house. It ran on Symbian 6.1 along with 32-bit 104MHz chip of RISC, 4MB RAM, 16MB ROM and a 0.3MP shooter. As for the Symbian 6.1 OS, you could check your email, send MMS message, sync your phone with a computer as well as run Java apps.

*Symbian is a kind of OS for mobile phones. It offers a high-level of integration with communication and personal information management (PIM) functionality. “Symbian OS combines middleware with wireless communications through an integrated mailbox and the integration of Java and PIM functionality (agenda and contacts).”

3. Nokia 7710 (2004): The FIRST Smartphone with touchscreen

Touchscreen seemed to be a strange idea to phone users 10 years ago. However, Nokia decided to bring it closer to them by creating Nokia 7710 featuring a touchscreen. The display’s resolution was 640 x 320 pixels plus 65 thousand colors, 90MB of internal storage and MMC card slot. Symbian Series 90 was in charge of the phone’s OS.

4. Nokia 7610 (2004): The First Phone having 1MP camera

Born in the same year with Nokia 7710, Nokia 7610 leaf came with Symbian S60 v7.0 and the first 1MP camera as a Nokia device. Did you get one at that time?

5. Nokia N82 (2007): The FIRST Phone with Xenon Flash

Launched in the same year with the Apple iPhone number one of the series, Nokia N82 had a 5MP cam with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash. It belonged to N-series with 128MB RAM and double-core ARM11 processor.
